When on the ground, they will fly if startled; best to shoot from a distance or approach slowly. No dual pistols, just fast travelling on and off for minutes for the best part of a year.

I got myself an old Lumia based on what idleblue reported but haven't got the glitch So you were simply fast traveling to one location and immediately after reaching it, opened the map and traveled back to the other location, and so on?
Were you in a "low health" state? How far were you in the story? I see you hadn't unlocked a lot of achievements before the glitch so I guess not so far. I hadn't done hardly any of the story. Full health and no extra equipment, it's just completely random. As I said i've been trying for the best part of a year now so statistically it will happen. It's actually quite common looking at how many people have unlocked it. When I did unlock the achievement I had been fast travelling for over 1 hour so the handset was overheating a bit, that's all I can think of.
No strange visual glitches or anything. Okay, thank you very much. I'll keep trying, then. I've been looking into this a bit and trying to reproduce it myself lately, now that I've got a Lumia I'd have to hazard a guess that, for whatever reason, the people triggering the glitch are getting data from a developer account or another source due to a glitch that causes this to trigger.
It's interesting to note that the missing achievements have different triggers, so that's why they're excluded when this happens. I'd also hazard a guess that it's possible to get this legit, if you never have to restore your save from the cloud. From personal experience, it's possible to lock yourself out of unlocking an achievement if you complete a pre-requisite and have to restore your save.
I did this with the animals by killing The Beast, and then restoring my save. It never respawned, and I never unlocked it. It appears there's some local file or cache dependency that it's checking against for the progress. If anyone should ever want to attempt this, complete the Hunting quests first, especially Town Supplies and Pest Control especially Pest Control.
Pest Control has the highest incident of issues. You must close the game by quitting via menu and using the back button to close the app, and not suspending it. In order to force a save, to ensure your data is clean and you don't lose progress, enter one of the Dungeons my choice was Human Larder. This will cause the autosave to trigger. For me? For now, I'm going to try triggering the glitch by using a macro to travel between Arizona and Oregon. This has apparently worked for 2 other accounts recently on a Lumia , so I'll exhaust that option before replaying another 40 hours to attempt.
Posted by Shadow Kisuragi on 06 Feb 19 at As an update, was able to trigger this within 40 minutes of manually traveling between Arizona and Oregon on a Lumia , as have many others with this particular phone, but only on a profile that had never played the game before.
I've heard similar stories from others that accounts that have little progress in the game have few issues triggering the glitch quickly, but as of yet I've been unable to trigger it on my account. Going to keep at it and see if I'm just unlucky.
